Dr. Mechanic is an active participant in cutting-edge research. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Internal and Emergency Medicine.

GAMEFILM: Using CTA Measures to Define Cardiac Risk in NFL Alumni.
Heartlung.AI: AI-powered cardiovascular disease detection technology that analyzes low-dose CT scans to provide FDA-cleared personalized prevention results.
Prior grants include: Harvard Medical School Eleanor and Miles Shore Award (Clinical innovation), Infectious Disease Society of America (HIV and lymphoma, Malawi)
Teaching
Dr. Mechanic is an associate professor of medical education, emergency medicine, and critical care. He was previously core faculty at Harvard Medical School.
He guest lectures at the University of Miami Business School on health policy and has taught / given grand rounds at: Harvard Medical School, Suffolk Law School, Morehouse School of Medicine, Harvard Executive Education, World of Healthcare (Ministry of Health, Netherlands), and Mount Sinai Medical Center, among other academic institutions.
